Aperol was founded in 1919 in the Italian city of Padua, by the two liqueur specialists and brothers Silvio and Luigi Barbieri. Aperol was launched on the basis of their revolutionary idea to create the mildest liqueur ever: an aperitif with an alcohol content of only 11%.
